30+ Maternity & Postpartum Wedding Guest Dresses

Looking for maternity friendly and postpartum wedding guest dresses?

Pregnancy is a wonderful time in any mother’s life, but it does come with its fashion challenges.

As the weeks and months go by and your belly grows, it gets harder to find everyday clothes to wear let alone a special occasion dress.

And once the baby arrives our postpartum body poses the same wardrobe issues in finding dresses to wear.

My brother-in-law got married last October when I was almost 8 months pregnant, so I have experienced this firsthand.

I have scoured the internet and rounded up multiple dress options that are bump and postpartum friendly so you can be wedding guest ready whether you are pregnant now or soon will be.

To make it easier to navigate, I’ve organized them into 3 categories:

  • Dresses with Prints and Patterns
  • Dresses with Details
  • Wrap Dresses

Postpartum Friendly Wedding Guest Dresses with Prints and Patterns

Prints and patterns are an amazing way to distract the eye so it’s an obvious choice when you’re trying to camouflage a baby bump or a softer belly.

Take a look at these postpartum friendly wedding guest dresses:

  1. Abercrombie & Fitch Drama Ruffle Tiered Gown in Green Floral: This dress comes in 3 other prints, but I’m partial to this green floral option. The tiered ruffle skirt adds movement to draw the eye and there is some shirring on the side of the bust area which provides a little wiggle room.

  2. Socialite Floral Smocked Tie Strap Maxi Cocktail Dress: Similar to the first dress, this one has a tiered skirt in a feminine floral print. This one is even more forgiving with the entire bust area being smocked.

  3. Mac Duggal Floral Bow Tiered A-Line Gown: This floral tiered A-line gown has so many great features going for it. The bow at the neckline draws your eye up and the skirt flows out to distract from a growing baby bump. I love the romantic feel of this dress and think it would be perfect for a Spring wedding.

  4. Zariaah Pink Chiffon Galactic Floral Print V Neck Maxi Dress: I love the gorgeous colors in this dress! The chiffon fabric is light and airy, and this is a great option if you want sleeves. The V neck is nursing friendly and the sash at the waist ensures the dress will still fit as your belly grows.

  5. Petal + Pup Kelda Dress in Beige: I love the simplicity of this dress and the fact that it has sleeves. Sometimes you just don’t want to show your arms. The V neckline is both flattering and nursing friendly. And the relaxed fit ensures you will feel comfortable as your bump continues to grow.

  6. Lovers and Friends Hazel Gown in Liliana Floral: The vibrant colors of this dress make it the perfect option for a summer wedding. The neckline and cutaway shoulders draw the eye up while the high slit draw attention to the leg. All great things when you want to disguise your midsection. If hot pink isn’t your color, this gown also comes in an option with varying shades of peach.

  7. Tillie One Shoulder Maxi Dress in Pink Floral: This chemise style dress is another great pick for moms. The large floral print and the asymmetric on shoulder neckline keep attention away from a growing belly.

  8. Hutch Stretch Satin Sleeveless Maxi Dress: Black and white is classic and timeless. It works for pretty much any occasion which makes this dress a great choice.

  9. Blythe Floral Plisse Midi Dress in Lime Lavender Floral: I wouldn’t normally pick a lime dress, but I can’t get over how beautiful this floral print is. It does come in 4 other colorways if this isn’t your style. The plunging neckline draws the eye, and the pleated skirt provides movement making it easy to hide your baby bump as it grows.

  10. BHLDN Isabella Tiered Square-Neck A-Line Midi Dress: The print on this dress is beautiful and the length would work for both heels or flats which is definitely a plus when your feet start to swell. The straps are adjustable and make it easier to nurse and the tiered skirt flow away from the body making it a very flattering fit.

Postpartum Friendly Wedding Guest Dresses with Intriguing Details

Just like patterns or prints, interesting details on a dress can distract the eye.

This could be anything from a strategically placed bow, pleating on the skirt or ruching in the midsection.

These postpartum friendly wedding guest dresses are great options:

  1. Mango Ombre One Shoulder Side Cutout Pleated Dress: Wearing this dress will get you noticed, but not because of your growing bump. The pleats and ombre pattern help to conceal the midsection while the one shoulder neckline, asymmetric hem and side cut out draw the attention elsewhere.

  2. Lulus Dreamy Date Surplice Midi Dress in Blue: If you’re not a big fan of prints and patterns, this dress is a good choice, and it comes in 9 different color options. The stretchy knit fabric means it will be comfortable to wear all day and the draping will help to flatter the postpartum body. Additionally, neckline makes it very easy to breastfeed.

  3. Petal + Pup Gia Pleated Halterneck Maxi Dress in Gold Purple: This dress is stunning. From the high neckline to the pleated overlay design and elasticized waist, you can’t go wrong if you decide to wear this dress.

  4. Lulus Elegant Moment Tie-Dye Backless Maxi Dress in Emerald Green: This dress comes in a couple of other colors, but the green is to die for! From the tie-dye print to the pleating of the flowy silhouette, this will look beautiful on you mama. To top it off, the deep V neck is very nursing friendly.

  5. Mac Duggal One-Shoulder Embroidered Shift Dress: This is one of the most beautiful gowns I’ve ever seen and at the same time it looks effortless. The embroidered flowers on the asymmetric hemline capture the eye and the flowy silhouette mean your midsection will be well hidden.

  6. Norma Kamali Walter Sweetheart Off-The-Shoulder Shirred Slim Midi Dress in Black: This dress offers a four-way-stretch that flatters all body types with soft, shirred detailing making it a comfortable fit in whichever stage of motherhood you are in. To top it off it looks effortlessly elegant. If off the shoulder isn’t your style, the designer offers other necklines that are just as flattering.

  7. Sachin & Babi Sloane Taffeta Double-Bow Pleated Mini Dress in Tulip Pink: You can’t get any cuter than this mini dress! The color is darling and comes in other 5 other colors so you’re sure to find one you love. The voluminous skirt makes it easy to hide that baby bump and the double bow detailing distracts the eye.

  8. Hutch Sleeveless V-Neck Cutout Midi Dress: This dress has so many great details that help to camouflage a growing bump or softer belly. The floral print, cut out in the bust area, pleating and bubble skirt all work together to make this a great choice for your next wedding.

  9. Maeve Halter Swing Maxi Dress: This linen gown would be the perfect dress for a beach wedding. The neckline draws attention to your face and then flows away from the body in a flattering shape. The colorway is classic, and the vertical lines help to slim the body.

  10. Hutch Strapless Tiered Maxi Dress: How stunning is this maxi dress? All the tiers on this skirt with the pleated and gathered fabric make it easy to hide a softer midsection.

  11. Mac Duggal Long-Sleeve Mock-Neck Floral Maxi Dress: The high neckline brings eyes up to your face and the slit in the bust area adds a subtle sexy element. The corset style back is not only gorgeous but is forgiving in case you’ve grown a few bra sizes.

Postpartum Friendly Wrap Dresses

There is no dress more versatile and figure friendly in a women’s closet than a wrap dress.

They fit when you gain or lose weight which means they are a great choice whether you’re pregnant or looking for postpartum friendly wedding guest dresses.

  1. Lulus French Countryside High-Low Dress in White Floral Print: This dress comes in 3 floral prints and 2 solid color options. The high low detail adds movement and interest to the skirt. And like any other wrap dress, this design makes it extremely nursing friendly.

  2. Lulus Still the One Satin Maxi Dress in Emerald Green Floral Print: There are 6 colors to choose from in this dress, and they are all to die for. It is made in a beautiful satin with a fitted waist to divert the eye away from a baby bump or postpartum tummy.

  3. Lulus Put on a Smile Satin Wrap Maxi Dress in Burgundy Floral: If you’re looking for sleeves, this beautiful dress comes in a couple of colorways, but I love the vibrant colors in the burgundy. The deep V neckline is perfect for breastfeeding moms.

  4. Lulus Moriah Satin Cold Shoulder Wrap Maxi Dress in Rose: The ruffled shoulder detailing of this dress gives off romantic vibes especially in the rose color. It comes in 2 other color options. The high slit accents the legs and the neckline gives easy access if you’re nursing.

  5. Lulus Evening of Elegance Floral Jacquard Wrap Midi Dress in Navy Blue: The floral jacquard pattern on this dress is subtle and stunning at the same time. I really like the sheer sleeves, and this is a great option if you’re looking for a shorter length.

  6. Callahan Sami Dress: Although not technically a wrap dress, it works for all the same reasons. The fabric gathers and ties in the front making it adjustable for a growing bump and the deep V neck makes it a good choice if you’re breastfeeding.

  7. Hutch Blanca Three-Quarter Sleeve Wrap Midi Dress: The bold colors in this dress make this a conversation starter and the sleeve detailing add a little extra something. The flowy dress and abstract print make it difficult for anyone to tell you’re expecting.

  8. BHLDN Esme V-Neck Long-Sleeve Wrap Chiffon Mini Dress: This mini dress gives similar vibes to the dress above, but in a shorter, fun length.

  9. Velvet by Graham & Spencer Eliana Wrap Midi Dress: Who couldn’t use another black dress in their closet? What makes this one standout is the dramatic plunging neckline.

  10. Farm Rio Long-Sleeve Floral Wrap Midi Dress: The print of this wrap dress gives a bohemian and carefree feel. The fit flows away from the body which makes it a no brainer when hiding a growing bump or less toned tummy. As with all the other wrap dresses, this style of dress is a good choice when nursing.
